Lydia Oxendine, Ph.D.

Lydia Oxendine is a consultant with TRI Corporation. She consults in the area of organizational leadership, program design and development, strategy development and implementation and program facilitation. Before joining TRI Corporation, Lydia worked for the Center for Executive Development in Strategic Planning and Business Development, the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.

Bio

At UC Berkeley, Lydia focused on a suite of products and developed and linked the Center’s brand image with the Haas School’s Leading through Innovation branding. Lydia designed programs for the Healthcare industry focusing on physician leadership capabilities and business acumen. Prior to her role at UC Berkeley, Lydia formed her own consulting firm. She worked with management teams to develop strategy and increase team performance. She also conducted field consulting and diagnosed, designed and implemented corporate-wide programs that focused on leadership, strategy development and effective teamwork.

Lydia began her career as a line manager in consumer packaged goods. At the Clorox Company she was responsible for yearly business reviews and advertising strategies for Tilex and Liquid Plumber. She also directed the design, research and testing of multiple new products in the household cleaners group. In the Specialty Brands group, Lydia introduced three new extensions to existing brands and directed the corporate-wide implementation of a new computer marketing and order system.

Throughout her academic career Lydia has conducted research on the success of international assignments, the effective use of teams, team evaluations and rewards, and the formation and development of creative coalitions in programs that focus on successful organizational creativity.

Accomplishments & Awards

In her role at UC Berkeley, Lydia developed a long-term growth strategy for the Center for Executive Development at the Haas School of Business. She implemented best practices throughout the Center’s development process from diagnosing client needs through the design, development and delivery of these highly customized programs. Additionally, Lydia formulated and implemented the year-long open enrollment program, Berkeley Executive Leadership Series.

Personal

Lydia’s other full-time job is a mother of three wonderful kids, ages nine, seven and five. Lydia used to be a competitive soccer player but gave it up when she started coaching her kids’ teams. She has a fine arts degree (prefers ceramics), loves to play bridge (when she can find people who play) and loves to read (in all her spare time). She and her husband Jeff and her family live in Northern California.
